Whoever removes a worldly hardship from a believer, Allah will remove one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection from him. (Narrated by Muslim, 2699)
The main cause of blindness in Bangladesh is cataracts, which is responsible for 60% of the cases. It can strike both the young and old. Even though it can be easily cured by a simple operation, but most of the people do not have no access to treatment services. If no urgent action, countless people will be destined to remain blind for life.
Since May 2000, Zaytun Welfare Trust has been providing free eye treatment for poor and needy in Bangladesh, and are planning to do these in other part of the world too. Already, many poor people have been for an eye examination and have received free treatment. There are still also many on our waiting list awaiting eye surgery. We want to help them with treatment and we invite you to save a sight if you are able.
Each cataract removal operation costs £50, more complex eye operations cost more. We don’t receive any outside funding – We are completely reliant upon your donations for our projects. Please help by donating anything you can.
